Where to Get Rims Fixed? Need Recommendations!

I’ve recently noticed that my car’s rims are looking a bit worse for wear. I’ve got some scratches and a bent rim that I want to get fixed, but I have no idea where to start looking. I’m reaching out to see if anyone here can share their experiences or advice on where to get rims repaired.

Things I’m Looking For:

  • Local Repair Shops: If you’ve had good experiences at any specific shops, I would love to hear about them. Recommendations for places that do great work are highly appreciated!
  • DIY Suggestions: Has anyone tried fixing their rims themselves? If so, what methods worked for you? Any supplies or tools that are must-haves?
  • Pricing Information: I know prices can vary a lot, but any ballpark figures or cost estimates would help me plan. What should I expect to pay for repairs?
  • Common Issues: What issues did you face, and how were they resolved? If there are certain problems that tend to pop up frequently, I’d love to know how you handled those.

Why This Matters:

Having good rims not only affects my car’s appearance but also its overall performance. I want to avoid any potential safety issues and make sure my vehicle runs smoothly.

Feel free to share your insights, personal stories, or advice on this topic. Thanks in advance for your help!

I recently got my rims fixed at Rimz R Us in downtown. They did a fantastic job! Prices were reasonable, around $100 per rim. Definitely recommend them!

I agree! I also had a great experience at Rimz R Us. They had my rims done in just a couple of hours!

Has anyone tried Wheels On The Go? I’ve heard mixed reviews, but they’re closer to me than Rimz R Us.

I had a very unpleasant experience with Wheels On The Go. They were slow and the repairs didn’t last long.

Oh no! That’s disappointing to hear about Wheels On The Go. Thanks for sharing, Lydia. My rims are pretty scuffed, so I want to pick the right place.

Check out Xtreme Rims! I took my car there last month and they were pretty thorough. Pricing starts at $80 per rim, and they’re quite reliable.

That sounds really good! Do they offer any guarantees on their work?

Yes! I believe Xtreme Rims offers a one-year warranty on their repairs. Definitely a plus in my book!

I’m just brainstorming ideas here: would DIY rim repair kits be a thing? I wonder how effective they might be compared to professionals.

Honestly, DIY is risky! I nearly ruined my rims trying to fix a scratch. Definitely better to leave it to the pros, unless you’re experienced.

Totally agree with Michael! Professional work saves time and potential damage. Plus, a good repair shop can give your rims a new life.

I laughed when I read that. It’s like trying to fix a leaky faucet without knowing how water works! Just not wise.

For a more robust option, you can try Alloy Wheel Repair Specialists. They are a bit pricier but very thorough in their work!

How much do they charge, Elizabeth? Are they really worth the extra cash?

Prices at Alloy Wheel Repair Specialists are around $120-$150 per rim, but they really do a meticulous job. I think it’s worth it for quality service.

Sounds compelling! I might go check them out for my bent rims. Thanks for the tip!

I’ve had similar thoughts about repairs. Ideally, I want my rims to look new again and last for a long time too. Worth the investment!

I recommend checking out your local auto parts store for rim repair kits. They often have all the tools needed, like sandpaper and fillers. Just make sure to follow the manufacturer’s instructions carefully!

Great tip! I’ve also found online videos super helpful for learning techniques. Just search for ‘DIY rim repair’ on YouTube!
