What Size Screws Do I Need for My License Plate?

Nylon screws? Interesting.
Anyone else tried that?
I’ve never used them. Do they hold up well in harsh weather?

From my experience, nylon screws last well enough unless you live in an area with extreme temperatures. Just keep an eye on them!

I think metal screws are still the safest bet, especially if you’re in a place with heavy rain.
Nylon screws? Interesting.
I’d be worried about them breaking off too easily.

Just a heads up! If you lose a screw while driving, it can really mess up your day. Make sure they’re secure!

Haha, true! Always double-check before hitting the road. Anyway, good luck with your install!

Did you know that different states can have specific requirements for license plate screws? It’s always a good idea to check your local regulations before getting started!

That’s true! For example, some states require anti-theft screws, while others allow standard screws. It’s so confusing!

I found that most states recommend using 1/4-20 screws for license plates. But double-check with your state’s DMV just to be safe!

That’s helpful info! I wonder if there are any states that require a different size or type?

Yes, some states like Florida actually recommend using specific screws for standard plates versus specialty plates. It’s good to be informed!

Make sure you check if your state has any regulations on the type of screws too! I once used zinc-coated screws and found out later they’re not allowed in my state. Ugh!

Oh no! That’s such a bummer. It’s always good to consult your state’s rules before drilling into anything!

Seriously! I once got pulled over just for having the wrong screws on my plate. Always better to be safe than sorry.

I heard you can never go wrong with stainless steel screws for license plates—strong and rust-resistant!

Stainless steel sounds great! And if you use those, you don’t have to worry about corrosion either.

Why not just attach your plate with duct tape? Just kidding! But seriously, doing your research about screws is crucial.

Haha! While that’s hilarious, I definitely agree that knowing the correct size and type helps avoid problems later on.
