What are the 0-60 times for BMW X5 models?

I’m in the market for a BMW X5 and I’m really curious about the performance metrics, particularly the 0 to 60 mph acceleration times for different models. I’ve seen some ranges online, but I want to get a more detailed comparison, especially between the gas and hybrid versions.

Key Points I’m Interested In:

  • What are the official 0-60 times for the latest BMW X5 models?
  • Are there noticeable differences in acceleration between the different engine options?
  • Are the differences in performance worth considering when choosing between models?

I appreciate any insights or personal experiences you can share. This will help me in making a more informed decision!

The 0-60 times for the BMW X5 vary significantly across model years and trims. For instance, the 2020 X5 xDrive40i records about 5.3 seconds. It’s quite impressive!

I’ve got the 2021 X5 M50i, and it hits 60 in just 4.1 seconds. Really a game changer in the SUV category!

Great point, williamhoward! I used to have a 2018 X5, which was around 5.5 seconds for the xDrive35i. Performance is definitely a leap with newer models.

Has anyone compared the 0-60 times of the X5 with competitors like the Audi Q7? I’ve heard the Q7 is slower, but it would be interesting to see the numbers!

Hey anthonyorozco, the Q7 tends to be in the range of 6.3 seconds for its higher trims, making the X5 a quicker option overall. Performance-wise, it’s a good choice!

True, but I also love the tech in the Q7. Makes me wonder if performance really is everything.

I think the 0-60 time should matter if you’re after that exhilarating feel. But, I agree with frank69—tech features are equally important for a daily driver.

For 0-60 times, the 2022 X5 plug-in hybrid manages about 5.6 seconds. It’s an interesting choice for those who want efficiency and speed.

I did not expect that from a hybrid! I guess BMW really nailed the performance mix.

I’ve driven the X5 from 2009, which was around 6.4 seconds. Quite a drag compared to the newer models, but still felt powerful for its time.

Yeah olivercindy, it’s amazing how much they have improved over the years. The 2015 model was around 5.8 seconds, but nothing like today’s beasts!

Reflecting on my old 2012 X5 xDrive50i, it was satisfying to drive despite a 0-60 time of about 5.7 seconds. It had charm!

Does anyone else find it funny that we’re discussing SUV accelerations? It’s like arguing about who can run fastest at a barbecue!

Haha, true! But you have to admit, it’s fun to explore performance in unexpected places.

I’m curious, what do you guys think is the most balanced model regarding performance, luxury, and comfort? Any suggestions considering the 0-60 times?

I’ve done some tuning on my X5 and dropped my 0-60 time to about 5.0 seconds. A good ECU tune works wonders!

That’s impressive, bthomas! What exhaust system did you use? I’ve been considering some upgrades myself.

I installed a Remus exhaust, and it really helped boost the performance while improving the sound. It’s an instant upgrade for the X5!
