Rivian R1S Cup Holders: Are They Enough?

I’ve recently taken delivery of my Rivian R1S, and while I’m loving the overall experience, I have to say I’m a bit underwhelmed by the cup holders.

Key Questions:

  • Design: How do you all find the design of the cup holders? Are they practical for larger cups or bottles?
  • Functionality: Do they hold your drinks securely while driving? I’ve noticed that some drinks tend to slip out if I hit a bump.
  • Modifications: Are there any aftermarket solutions that you’d recommend? I’d love to hear about any products that enhance the cup holder space or organization.

Personal Experience:

I’ve tried using some smaller travel mugs but they don’t quite fit right, and I can’t help but wonder if there are better alternatives out there.

Let’s hear your thoughts! Anyone found some clever hacks or products that improve this aspect of the R1S? Looking forward to your insights!

I’ve been exploring the Rivian R1S and the cup holders are definitely a topic of discussion! The design seems sleek, but I’m curious if they really hold larger travel mugs well.

Actually, I found that the cup holders fit most standard-sized cups perfectly, but my oversized coffee mug was a tight squeeze.

I’ve had similar concerns! The main holders seem okay for regular cups, but larger bottles might pose a problem depending on the diameter.

Does anyone know if the cup holders are adjustable? I feel like an adaptable design would be key for versatility.

That’s a great point! Not having that could lead to some frustrating moments during road trips.

I love that the cup holders are well-placed for easy access! Only downside is the potential for spills if you hit a bump with an open cup.

That spill concern is real! I’ve spilled drinks before in my other vehicles. Hopefully, the R1S has made an effort to reduce that risk!

I’ve heard they included features to minimize spills. Does anyone have personal experiences with rough roads?

I can speak to that! I’ve driven on some bumpy terrain and my drinks held up surprisingly well, much to my delight.

That’s promising! So maybe the design is well thought-out after all. How does it hold smaller containers?

I’ve tested small water bottles and they fit just fine. It seems the R1S accommodates a range of sizes decently.

I can’t help but laugh at how important cup holders are! It’s like a make-or-break feature for me. Glad to hear they seem adequate.

Agreed! It’s the small things that can make all the difference. Just don’t try balancing a large slurpee in there.

Haha! Definitely a lesson learned from past vehicle experiences. A reflective note for all you slurpee lovers out there!

I recently checked out the Rivian R1S and I have to say, the cup holders are decent but not groundbreaking. Compared to the Tesla Model X, they feel a bit cramped. Anyone else had hands-on experience?

I agree! The Tesla Model X has more spacious cup holders, but the Rivian’s are unique in their design. They are definitely functional, though.

Honestly, I think the Rivian R1S cup holders are a good blend between style and utility, but if you’re looking for passenger comfort during long trips, you may want to consider other options too.

Exactly! Also, I find the Rivian’s unique climate control and interior layout can compensate for the cup holders’ small size.

From my experience with the Ford Mustang Mach-E, the cup holders are more spacious and ergonomically designed. They even have a little rubber grip for your drink!
