Looking for the Best Model S Wide Body Kit - Any Recommendations?

Seeking Advice on Model S Wide Body Kits

I’m considering upgrading my Tesla Model S with a wide body kit and I’m looking for some advice. I’ve seen a few options out there and I want to make sure I’m making the right choice, both in terms of aesthetics and performance.

What to Consider When Choosing a Wide Body Kit

  • Fitment: I want to ensure that the kit fits perfectly without causing issues down the line. If anyone has experience, what should I look for?
  • Material Quality: Some kits are made from fiberglass while others are made from ABS plastic or polyurethane. What do you all recommend based on durability?
  • Installation: Is it something I can tackle myself or should I leave it to the professionals? Any tips for those who have installed kits before?
  • Brand Recommendations: I’ve seen kits from companies like [brand1], [brand2], and [brand3]. Can anyone share their experiences and suggest which brands are best?
  • Forum Reviews and Feedback: Did anyone have a particularly positive or negative experience with a specific kit? I’d love to hear personal stories.

My Current Setup

I currently have a standard Model S, and I’m mostly interested in enhancing its look, although I wouldn’t mind a little boost in performance too. Does anyone know if a wide body kit can actually help with aerodynamics or handling?

Feel free to share any links to products or forum threads you think might help. I appreciate any insights or advice you can offer! Thanks in advance!

Hey everyone! I’m also looking for the best wide body kit for my Model S. I’ve heard that the Brabus kit is popular. Has anyone installed it yet?

The Brabus kit is fantastic! Just make sure you have a heat gun to help with some of the tougher bends during installation.

Totally agree with kristinaweber! A heat gun is essential. Also, don’t forget to get some good double-sided tape for secure attachment. Anyone have tips on painting?

When painting, always use the correct primer and spray in a well-ventilated area! Prepare for some trial and error though—it’s not easy!

I’ve done this project before! Ensure you have a buddy to help. Those wide body panels can be tricky to maneuver alone. How long did it take for everyone?

Just a few hours if you have everything organized, but I’ve heard of people taking days! Planning is key. Definitely avoid rushing the adhesion process.

So true! I learned the hard way. Also, always inspect for gaps after installation; they can affect the final look.

What tools did everyone end up using? I want to gather everything before I start the process. Any specific brands recommended?

I’d recommend going for a professional-grade drill and good hand tools like wrenches. Harbor Freight has some affordable options!

This is all great advice! I’m feeling pumped to tackle this project! Just hope my neighbors don’t complain about the noise. :joy:

I’ve been looking into wide body kits for my Model S too! One brand that keeps coming up is the Unplugged Performance kit. They have great reviews, but I’m curious about compatibility with older models.

Unplugged is solid! Their kit really enhances the aggressive look. Just check if your Model S is from 2015 or later for the best fit.

I’ve heard great things about the Rivo kit as well. It seems like a good option if you want something more unique and customizable. Has anyone tested their fitment?

I installed the Rivo kit last year on my Model S, and it fit perfectly. However, I had to make some minor adjustments for the rear. Still, the look is worth the hassle!

That’s awesome to hear! I’m considering it, but I didn’t know it needed adjustments. What exactly did you change?

I had to trim some of the fender flare edges to match my model’s lines. It was a bit nerve-wracking, but it turned out great in the end! Just take your time.

What about pricing? I’ve seen wide body kits range from affordable to ridiculously expensive. Is there a budget option that’s still good?

If you’re on a budget, consider the Vivid Racing kit. It’s cheaper and still gets you that wide body look without breaking the bank. I’ve heard mixed reviews, but it could be worth checking out.

That’s a solid suggestion! Just make sure you verify compatibility with your specific year. I had a buddy who ended up with a kit that didn’t fit right at all.
