Looking for the Best Exhaust Options for My 2018 BMW M2!

I’m in the market for an aftermarket exhaust for my 2018 BMW M2 and could use some advice!

I’ve been researching different exhaust systems and I’d love to hear about your experiences. Here are some specifics I’m curious about:

  • Sound: What systems have you found to have the best sound quality? I’m looking for something that really brings out that classic BMW growl.
  • Performance: Which exhausts have you noticed provide a real boost in performance? I want to enhance throttle response and overall power.
  • Fitment and Installation: Are there any brands that are particularly easy to install, or are there systems that require a lot of modification?
  • Durability: Have any of you had issues with wear and tear on your exhaust systems over time?

I’m considering brands like Akrapovic, Armytrix, and Borla but would appreciate any insights or suggestions. Looking forward to hearing what you all have to say!

Definitely check out the Akrapovic system. It’s pricey, but the sound is incredible and you get a nice performance increase. Worth it if you’re serious about your M2!

I second Akrapovic! The way it enhances the exhaust note is fantastic. Plus, I found installation to be straightforward. You might need some help, though, if you’re not experienced with cars.

Have you looked into the Remus exhaust? It has a nice aggressive tone and is a bit more affordable than Akrapovic. I’ve heard great reviews about it!

Hmm, I haven’t heard as much about Remus. Is the sound significantly different from Akra? I’m looking for that perfect growl.

I installed the Borla S-Type exhaust on my M2 and I love it! It has a nice throaty sound without being obnoxious. Very easy to install too!

I’ve heard that some systems may require a tune. Is it necessary for Borla or does it run fine stock?

You can run the Borla without a tune, but a tune will definitely optimize performance. I noticed a good difference after adding one!

Just be careful when choosing a system. Some can be too loud for daily driving. It’s a fine balance between sound and practicality.

Haha, I just want my car to sound like a monster! Is too loud even a thing when it comes to an M2? Maybe I’ll scare a few pedestrians along the way!

If you’re aiming for ‘monster’ level, look into the Eventuri intake paired with your exhaust! It’ll really unleash the beast in your engine. Combine them for maximum effect!

What about the price differences among these brands? I don’t want to break the bank but still want a decent sound and performance.

Prices can vary quite a bit. Akrapovic will set you back around $3,000, while Borla and Remus can be around $1,500-$2,000. Definitely worth comparing!

In the end, it’s about your personal preference. Just think about what kind of driving experience you want. Take your time making a decision!

Hey everyone! I’m searching for the best exhaust options for my 2018 BMW M2. I’ve heard some aftermarket systems can have legal implications regarding emissions. Can anyone share their experiences?

Great question! Modifying the exhaust can impact your car’s emissions compliance. Make sure to check local regulations to avoid fines.

Exactly! Plus, noise regulations can be a hassle too. How loud do you want it to be?

I recently installed a new exhaust, and it’s fantastic but loud! Just remember that loud systems might not pass inspections in some areas. Always check local laws first.

Also, if you modify your exhaust, it might affect your warranty. BMW can deny claims related to performance mods. Just something to keep in mind!
