Anyone used the AtlasBX / Hankook 85B24LS in their Model 3 or Model Y?

I’ve been doing some research on the AtlasBX / Hankook 85B24LS 12V 45Ah battery and wanted to gather some feedback from fellow Tesla owners. Specifically, I’m looking for insights about its compatibility and performance in both the Model 3 and Model Y.

Here are a few points I’m curious about:

  • Compatibility: Is this battery a direct replacement? Any special adaptations needed?
  • User Experiences: How does this battery perform in real-world conditions? Are there noticeable differences in power or longevity compared to the original?
  • Purchase Options: Any recommendations on where to buy it? Online versus local shops?
  • Specifications: What should I keep in mind regarding the specs before I switch?

I appreciate any tips, advice, or experiences you can share, especially if you’ve already made the switch. Thanks in advance for your help!

I’ve been using the AtlasBX / Hankook 85B24LS for about 6 months in my Model 3, and it performs really well! Cranking power is excellent, even in the colder months. I’d highly recommend it for reliability.

That’s great to hear! How does it hold up during extreme heat? I live in a warmer area and I’m concerned about battery performance in high temperatures.

I’ve had a different experience. The performance in hot weather wasn’t great for me. The battery seemed to drain quicker than I expected. Curious if anyone else faced this issue?

I faced similar issues. It’s a bit disheartening as I thought the 85B24LS would perform optimally based on reviews.

I’ve had none of those issues in my Model Y! Cranks like a champ even in freezing conditions. It seems there might be some variability in units based on experiences.

That’s interesting. Maybe some batteries are just luckier? I appreciate the feedback, everyone! This helps a lot.

I’ve been impressed with the longevity so far. It lasts well beyond expectations—almost a year and still going strong! The cranking power in chilly weather has been reliable too.

Longevity is a big plus! How does it perform when you’re using more energy-intensive features like heating?

My experience has been mostly positive, but I definitely notice the draw when I run the heater. Still, it’s not alarming. Maybe just plan for a charge afterward if you’re using the heater a lot.

This has been quite the ride! I mean, one guy’s ‘strong performer’ is another’s ‘meh’ situation. I guess batteries are like people—they come with their quirks!

I recently installed the AtlasBX / Hankook 85B24LS in my Model Y. The installation was pretty straightforward, but make sure you have the right tools ready beforehand. You’d want to double-check the compatibility as well.

That’s interesting, Kenneth! I’m considering this battery for my Model 3. Did you face any issues with dimensions or terminals at all during the fitting?

The installation was easier than I thought! Be careful with the clips; they can be tricky to remove. Also, watch out for the battery’s weight when lifting it into place.

That’s reassuring to hear! I read that the Hankook battery also offers great performance under cold weather. Have you tested it in various temperatures?

Yes! I tested it last winter, and it performed well. Another hint: always check your connections after installing, to avoid any surprises later.

Very helpful advice! I’m sold on the AtlasBX battery for my Model 3. Just hope I don’t turn it into a jigsaw puzzle!

If it does become a puzzle, remember to take breaks! It always helps to keep your frustration levels down.
