Any tips on BMW door light projectors?

I’m looking into adding door light projectors for my BMW, and I could really use some advice!

Specific Questions:

  • What are the best brands to consider?
  • How difficult is the installation process?
  • Are there specific models that work better with certain BMW series?
  • Any recommendations on where to buy them?
  • Do they make a noticeable difference in aesthetics or functionality?

I’ve seen a few options online, but I’m not sure what would be compatible with my vehicle or what really stands out in terms of quality. If anyone has installed these before, I’d love to hear about your experiences! Any insights or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

If you’re installing BMW door light projectors, start by removing the door panel. A set of trim removal tools will make this easier without damaging anything. Just be patient and follow the steps outlined in your vehicle’s manual!

Great tips, ddunn! I found that using a heat gun to slightly warm the adhesive can make it easier to remove the old logo before installing the new projector.

I’ve installed them on my 3 Series and I suggest doing it in a well-lit area. You’ll want to ensure the projector aligns perfectly with the door to avoid any awkward angles when lit.

Exactly! Also, don’t rush it. Double-check your connections because loose wiring can lead to flickering lights.

Make sure to disconnect the battery before starting to avoid any electrical issues. You wouldn’t want to short out the system.

Can someone recommend which projectors are the best? I’ve seen mixed reviews on the market and I want to get something that fits well and looks good.

I highly recommend the ones from XYZ brand; they’ve been reliable and provide great clarity. Just make sure they’re compatible with your BMW model.

I had trouble aligning the projector at first. Be aware that if the projection isn’t level, it can look pretty silly. Don’t be afraid to adjust it multiple times!

Oh, trust me, I learned that the hard way! A bubble level can help immensely during the process.

Just make sure you don’t install them upside down. I once saw a car with the logo projected on the ground at an odd angle, and it was just hilarious!

I’ve been using the LED door light projectors from Cree for a year now. They provide great clarity and have held up really well. I recommend checking them out!

Cree lights are solid! I’ve seen other brands that don’t even come close in build quality.

I got my projector lights from AutoZone, but honestly, they don’t have the brightness I’d hoped for. Has anyone tried the ones from BMW’s official store?

I’ve seen mixed reviews on the BMW official door light projectors. Some people love them for their brightness, but others say they’re overpriced. What did you experience?

I’ve had good luck with the ones from AliExpress. They’re cheap and surprisingly high quality. But shipping can take ages!

Good to know! Just make sure you check the reviews before purchasing.

Definitely agree on checking reviews! I’ve also read that some brands can be super dim. What’s the ideal price range for quality projectors?

I think you can find decent ones from $20 to $50. Just be wary of super cheap options. They usually disappoint!

Do you mean like the projectors that show logos? Those are super cool! Do they actually work well in daylight?
