Why is my Tesla not checking for updates?

Exactly! It’s frustrating when you see others have features that you don’t because your car isn’t updating.

Has anyone checked the settings in their Tesla app? Sometimes a simple toggle can bring it back to life.

I did that, but no luck! It feels like my car is stuck in the past.

While checking your Wi-Fi and settings, keep in mind the importance of updates for safety features. It can be a real concern if your vehicle isn’t receiving critical patches.

That’s true! I always worry about missing safety patches. It’s just too risky.

I’ve read that some people have had luck by restarting their car’s system. It sounds weird, but it might work!

Haha, maybe I should try that! Worst case, I just end up with a car nap.

What if the issue is with your account? Sometimes, Tesla accounts can have inconsistencies that hinder updates. Contacting support might lead to some answers.

I hadn’t thought about that! I’ll definitely check my account status.

I’ve had similar issues with my Tesla. Sometimes it just doesn’t want to check for updates! I usually try rebooting the system by holding down the two scroll wheels. It worked for me a couple of times.

Rebooting is a classic! I had to do that too, but also check if the Wi-Fi connection is strong. Sometimes it’s as simple as that!

I agree with albertdean. The connection can be spotty. I found that updating it from my garage, near my router, really helped my Tesla check for updates more reliably.

If your Tesla isn’t checking for updates, you could also try toggling the Wi-Fi off and back on. I did that and immediately got a notification about available updates!

That’s a good suggestion! I’ve also noticed that updates often roll out slowly, so patience is sometimes key.

I’m glad I’m not alone in this! My Tesla hasn’t checked for updates in three weeks. I might follow your advice, leakyla, and try the Wi-Fi toggle. Fingers crossed!

I have a theory: Maybe the updates are just shy! :joy: Seriously though, could it be related to where you park your car? That might affect the signal.

Lol, schroedertheresa! I think you might be onto something with parking! I often park far from my house, and have had issues too. Moving closer helped my car check for updates!

Good point, gmorris! I’ve also tried resetting the Wi-Fi network settings, and it resolved my issues too. Highly recommend that!

That reset trick worked for me last month, jasonberry! I just wish Tesla could streamline this! Feeling frustrated is normal – you’re not alone.

I wonder if being an early adopter affects your update experience. Some friends with newer models seem to get updates faster.
