Really interesting technology, but I feel like the self-healing grill can be hit or miss. Sometimes after repairs, it doesn’t completely recover. Is this normal?
I’ve noticed this too! It’s like it has a mind of its own. Sometimes a second attempt works better. Just be patient!
Has anyone figured out how to reset the self-healing feature? Mine is being quirky and I can’t find any instructions in the manual.
To reset, try disconnecting the battery for about 10 minutes. That worked for my grill before.
I got a scratch, but the grill didn’t self-heal. Feels like I wasted my money on this ‘advanced’ tech. Disappointed.
I totally get that! I wish it were more reliable. It can feel gimmicky at times. Anyone had real success?
Funny you say that, Matthew! I had a friend jokingly say they should have called it ‘self-hoping.’
Haha! That’s a perfect description. I’m kind of waiting for innovation instead of frustration at this point.
I think the grill works better with certain scratches. Some people have reported success with light surface scratches.
True! I had a deep one on mine that didn’t heal completely. Maybe it’s worth trying to avoid those kinds!
Anyone know if there are aftermarket solutions to make the self-healing grill more effective?
I haven’t heard much on that front, but I’d be curious too! It’s always good to explore options.
I’m wondering if I’m the only one feeling like the whole self-healing thing is a bit overhyped. Thoughts?
You’re not alone! It’s a cool concept, but the execution seems lacking for many.
I recently learned about BMW’s self-healing grill tech. It’s fascinating how it can repair minor scrapes and chips on its own! Can anyone share real-world experiences with this feature?
I’ve had my BMW with the self-healing grill for about six months. It’s amazing! No more worrying about minor damage after a parking incident.
I think the self-healing feature is a great innovation! Traditional grills need constant maintenance, which can be a hassle. Any downsides to this self-healing tech?
While self-healing grills are cool, I’ve read they can be pricier to replace if damaged completely. Traditional grills are simpler and often cheaper to fix.
That’s true! I wonder if the long-term maintenance costs make them worth it versus traditional grills.
From what I’ve seen, the performance of self-healing grills under regular wear and tear seems better. Anyone had a chance to compare how both types hold up over years?
