What's the best electric car home charger to get?

Anyone thought about going the DIY route? Seems like it could save some cash, but I also worry about potential issues down the line.

Cost is important, but don’t forget safety! Every corner you cut could come back to bite you.

LOL, imagine trying to install a charger and ending up with a transformer instead! Definitely worth leaving this to the pros if you’re unsure!

I think I’m leaning towards professionals for this one. It’s crucial to get it right, especially with electrical work involved.

It really varies! Most of the time, the actual installation is quick, but permits can take a while, depending on where you live.

I recently got the ChargePoint Home Flex and love it! It’s super versatile with multiple power settings. Charges my car quickly and integrates well with their app. Highly recommended!

Sounds great! I’ve heard good things about ChargePoint, but I’m also looking at the JuiceBox. Any opinions on that?

I have the JuiceBox 40 and it’s been solid. Charges my car quickly and has WiFi connectivity for monitoring. However, I noticed it can get slightly noisy while charging.

I’ve had the JuiceBox for a year now, and while I agree it’s good, some days it takes longer than expected to charge. Just my experience!

I went with the Siemens VersiCharge and it’s been excellent! It works well for my Nissan Leaf and the installation was straightforward. Just wish it had a better app interface.

That’s a bummer! App functionality is so important nowadays. How fast does it charge your Leaf?

It charges my Leaf fully in about 5-6 hours on the standard setting. Not as fast as some others, but it’s been reliable overall.

I’m curious if anyone has experience with the Wallbox Pulsar Plus. It looks compact but powerful. Would love to hear how it performs!

I’ve seen that model! It seems to get a lot of hype. But is it really worth it?

I’ve had the Wallbox Pulsar for a few months and it’s been great! Compact design and charges my car quickly. The app could be better, but it’s manageable.

That’s a common theme across chargers! Is there a model that people think has the best app functionality?

I’ve found that the ChargePoint app is the most user-friendly. You can schedule charging times, which helps with electricity rates. Very practical!

I might lean towards that. Especially if I can save a few bucks on charging!
