What’s the Deal with Hybrid Battery Warranties in California?

I ended up escalating the issue to their corporate office. It took some patience, but persistence pays off! Don’t give up if they say no at first.

Persisting sounds like a good strategy! Just remember, getting heated won’t help. Stay cool—like your hybrid battery! :joy:

I’m curious about the hybrid battery warranties too! Many manufacturers offer different terms. For example, Toyota offers an 8-year/100,000-mile warranty. Has anyone had issues with it?

I’ve had my Toyota Prius for about 5 years, and the warranty has been solid. No issues so far, and I love the reliability!

What about Honda? I heard their warranties are comparable. Is it just as reliable as Toyota’s?

I think Honda offers 8 years/100,000 miles too. But some users have reported battery failures after the warranty expires. So, it’s a gamble.

I had a Honda Insight and had to replace the battery right after the warranty ended. Super frustrating! Not sure I’d recommend it based on my experience.

Yikes! That definitely sounds disheartening. Any thoughts on Hyundai? I’ve heard good things about their warranty coverage.

Hyundai offers an amazing 10-year/100,000-mile warranty for their hybrids! I’ve found many users speaking highly of the reliability as well. Definitely worth considering!

That’s great information! What about resale value? Do these warranties impact that in California?

It seems like a good warranty boosts resale value, especially in California. I’ve seen buyers looking for assurance on battery life. Probably a smart move for prospective buyers!

Definitely! Also, I think it encourages you to take better care of your hybrid since you’re covered for longer. Plus, who doesn’t love a good warranty?
