What’s the Best Non-Hitch Bike Rack for My Car?

Good question! Some racks have adjustable arms to secure different bike sizes. Always check the specs!

Just remember, installing one of these racks can be a workout! I might need a gym after all the lifting!

I recently picked up a Saris Bones 2 trunk bike rack, and I absolutely love it! It’s super easy to install and can hold two bikes securely. If you’re looking for something reliable, I highly recommend it.

That’s great to hear! I’ve heard a lot about Saris. Do you find it stable during long drives?

I have the Yakima HighRoad and it’s been fantastic! I love that it’s adjustable to fit different bike sizes and it’s pretty easy to set up. Just make sure your trunk is compatible.

Does the Yakima HighRoad require any tools for installation, or is it all just strap-based? I just want something straightforward.

Honestly, I found the Allen Sports Deluxe 2-Bike Trunk Rack to be a great budget option. It’s not the fanciest, but it’s sturdy enough and does a decent job without breaking the bank.

Thanks for the tip! I was also considering this one. Any tips for making sure the bikes don’t sway too much when driving?

I’ve used the Hollywood Racks F2 with my sedan, and it’s been reliable. Make sure to follow the instructions carefully; the fit is key. I’ve seen some how-to videos that really help, too!

How well does it fit on your car? Any complaints about it scratching the paint?

I was skeptical about trunk racks at first, but now I can’t imagine traveling without my Thule Raceway. It’s got a really nice design and a snug fit. Plus, it looks cool too!

Looking cool is a big plus! But does it come with any locking mechanism? I worry about theft when stopping during road trips.
