I’m really interested in adding a rooftop tent to my Rivian R1T for some upcoming camping trips, but I’m not sure where to start. I’ve read a bit about Rivian’s own tent offerings, but I’m also curious about what the community thinks.
Here are a few questions I have:
Official vs. Third-party Tents: Are the official Rivian tents worth the investment, or have you found better options with other brands?
Compatibility: How seamless is it to integrate the tent with the R1T’s design? Are there any modifications needed?
Features to Look For: What features should I prioritize when choosing a rooftop tent for my Rivian, especially for two or three-person use?
User Experiences: For those who already own a rooftop tent for their Rivian, how has your experience been? Any pros or cons?
I’m looking for insights on pricing, durability, and any tips you have for maximizing outdoor adventures with these tents. Thanks in advance for your help!
Rivian offers their own crossbars that are compatible with the R1S. They’re designed for easy mounting of rooftop tents. Just make sure they’re properly secured!
I’ve been looking into rooftop tents for my Rivian too! I found the Tepui Autana to be quite spacious and user-friendly. Pricing ranges from $1,500 to $3,000 depending on features.
Great choice with the Tepui! I also heard that the Yakima SkyRise is a solid option. It’s a bit cheaper and easy to set up, but maybe smaller than the Tepui?
I’d recommend checking out the iKamper series as well. They have incredible insulation and expand quickly, but they’re on the pricier side, usually starting at $3,800.
