Looking for Ford Lightning Bed Covers with Wing - Recommendations?

I’m currently on the hunt for a bed cover for my Ford Lightning that also has a wing or spoiler. I’m really interested in how these covers not only look but also their impact on aerodynamics.

Here are a few things I’m curious about:

  • Brands and Models: What brands have you tried that offer good quality and design?
  • Installation: How easy are these bed covers to install? Any tips or tricks would be great!
  • User Experiences: If you have a bed cover with a wing, how has your experience been with it? Would you recommend it?

Any thoughts or recommendations? I’d love to hear your experiences or see some photos if you have them. Thanks for any help you can provide!

I recently installed a hard cover on my Ford Lightning and love it! It complements the truck’s look and keeps my gear safe. Highly recommend looking into the BAKFlip series; they have great durability!

Did you find it easy to install? I’ve always been curious about the BAKFlip system.

I’ve had the Extang Solid Fold 2.0 for a while now, and it’s holding up well. It’s super easy to use and provides good security without being too bulky. Plus, it looks sleek!

That sounds great! Can you tell me if it makes a lot of noise at highway speeds?

Not really, it’s pretty quiet! Just make sure everything is tightened down properly. Otherwise, it can rattle a bit. I’ve been pretty satisfied with it overall!

I’ve always preferred soft covers for convenience. They’re lightweight and give you options for quick access. Has anyone tried the Tyger Auto soft cover? I’m considering it for my Lightning!

I have the Tyger Auto cover! It’s easy to install and fits snugly. Just make sure to maintain it to prevent wear and tear.

I am also considering a retractable cover like the Retrax. Does anyone have experience with that? I’ve heard they’re a bit pricier, but worth it for the convenience.

I have the Retrax, and I do think it’s worth the investment. It’s strong and super easy to operate. Just keep in mind, it adds weight to the bed.

Good to know! Does it come with a warranty? That’s something I look for when buying new parts.

Yes, it comes with a lifetime warranty! That’s part of what made me choose it. Great peace of mind when spending that much money!

I’ve read mixed reviews about soft covers. Some people say they flap a lot at higher speeds. Is that true? Can’t decide whether to go hard or soft!

It really depends on your needs. If you’re carrying valuable stuff, I’d go hard; they’re more secure. But for quick access and lightweight, soft is great!

True! I want security, but I also care about looks. The hard covers usually have a more streamlined appearance. Feeling torn here!

It’s tough! I went through the same dilemma. Think about what you’re hauling—if it’s outdoor gear or tools, a hard cover might be better.

I’ve gone through a few covers and always seem to come back to soft ones. They are so much easier to use! But a buddy of mine swears by hard covers. He says they’re the only way to go.

Anyone thinking about adding a wing to their cover? I’ve seen some with wings that look pretty slick! Just wondering if it’s functional or just for aesthetics.

I think it’s more aesthetic, but it could help a bit with airflow! Just that extra touch for style.

I’m also looking for bed covers with wings for my Ford Lightning! I’ve heard that companies like Bak Industries make some good options. Anyone tried them?
