Right? Sometimes I think the cup holder is more for looks than practical use. Those silicone mats could help with stability, though.
Another approach might be to replace the entire console for a model that has better cup holders. I’ve heard some Z3 parts fit well—just a thought!

I can’t believe how tricky this simple issue becomes. But hey, at least we can all bond over cup holder struggles! 
Agreed, robinsonmark! The Z4 is such a beautifully designed car, but those cup holders—ugh. It’s a design flaw for sure! Maybe one day I’ll find my ideal solution.

Getting a non-slip mat helped a bit, but it’s still not perfect. I think a redesign should be in order!

Sometimes I just use a rubber band around the cup! It sounds silly, but it works.

Honestly, I’m not ready to spend more cash on this issue. Thought it was a design flaw!
Using a simple clip can also keep it from wiggling around while driving.

Honestly, at this point, I just make sure not to get drinks in my Z4! It’s a hassle.
Haha, I can relate! Maybe we should start a support group for z4 owners and their cup holders!
