Got a P0C17 Code on My Hyundai Sonata Hybrid - Anyone Else Facing This?

I haven’t tried that yet. I’ll give it a shot! Soft resets sometimes help, right?

I’ve also seen this issue connected to electrical system malfunctions. Have there been any recalls on components? It might be worth checking.

That’s a good point! I’ll look into that. I wonder if the dealership has had multiple complaints about this.

I’m curious if anyone has had success with their dealership regarding the P0C17 code. It’s frustrating dealing with hybrid diagnostics.

Seriously! The last time I was at the dealership, they seemed stumped. It’s like they don’t know how to fix software glitches.

I’ve made a habit of bringing up issues with the dashboard warnings to my mechanic. Sometimes they can reset things and it works for a while.

That’s what I’m banking on! It’s just annoying when you think everything’s fixed, and then the warnings come back.

I had a hilarious moment when my infotainment system started playing a random karaoke tune after I got the code. Anyone else experience weird behavior like that?

Haha, that’s wild! I wish mine were that entertaining. It’s just static and errors for me!

I think this is a common issue. My friend had similar problems with their Sonata Hybrid and ended up needing a software update. Just be persistent with your service center.

That’s reassuring to hear! Hopefully, it’ll just need a quick fix. I was worried it might be something more serious.

I’ve been reflecting on how advanced these systems are but how often they seem to glitch! Makes you rethink the reliability of hybrid technology.

I got a P0C17 code too! It looks like it relates to a hybrid system malfunction. I’ve read that repairs can be pricey, sometimes reaching up to $2,500 depending on the issue.

Yes, I’ve heard that hybrid components can be more expensive to fix. It’s crazy how labor costs vary from dealer to dealer.

On top of that, finding parts might be a hassle. Non-hybrid versions of the Sonata are usually easier and cheaper to maintain.

Totally agree! Especially when you consider the hybrid battery replacement costs – yikes!

I guess it’s the trade-off for having a hybrid. I wonder how other Hyundai models compare in terms of repair costs.

Good question! I’ve seen some reports that hybrids generally have higher long-term maintenance costs.

Exactly, and sometimes, it’s tough to justify those costs! I’ve been contemplating switching back to a non-hybrid for this reason.

I’ve actually loved the driving experience of my Sonata Hybrid. Just wish the repairs weren’t so daunting! Anyone actually replaced parts themselves?
