Falken Rubitrek vs Wildpeak AT3W - Which All-Terrain Tire Should I Choose?

Interesting! I’ve heard mixed reviews about the Wildpeak’s durability. Do you think the tread pattern affected its wear?

The Wildpeak AT3W has been solid for me! I’ve pushed it through snow and mud and am at 50,000 miles with still decent tread left. It might not be as rugged as the Falken, but it’s performing well on-road too.

That sounds pretty impressive! How’s the noise level on the road with those tires?

Noise isn’t a big issue. The tread pattern helps reduce it a lot! I’d say the Wildpeak AT3W is quieter compared to my friends’ Rubitreks when driving on highways.

I had the Falken Rubitrek on my SUV and they were fantastic off-road, but after 35,000 miles, I did notice some uneven wear. Still, the grip is exceptional in different weather conditions.

Did you rotate your tires regularly? That can really affect wear.

Absolutely! I rotat my tires religiously every 5,000 miles. Just a quirk of my truck, I guess. Still, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Rubitreks for their grip.

I’m considering switching to Falken Rubitrek because of these positive reviews! Does anyone know how they fare in wet conditions?

The Rubitrek performs well in the wet! I’ve driven through heavy rain with no hydroplaning issues, so I think you’ll be safe with those.

I’ve had both the Wildpeak AT3W and Rubitrek on different vehicles. The Wildpeak is a good balance for mixed conditions, but I found the Falken excels in off-road without compromising too much on-road.

That’s interesting! So you think Falken is worth the investment for more serious off-road adventures?

For sure! The Falken may have a higher upfront cost, but the durability and performance make it worth every penny, especially if you drive a lot off-road.

I’ve been using Wildpeak AT3Ws for the last couple of years with a lot of highway driving; honestly, my mileage is around 40,000. They do start slipping a bit in heavy mud though.

Money saved on tires is money spent on coffee! :joy: That said, I want tires that last. Do you think the Falken would outperform them in mud?

From my experience, yes! The Falken has a much more aggressive tread, which helps with mud traction. I’d definitely choose them if mud is a regular part of your terrain.

I’ve been looking into the Falken Rubitrek and Wildpeak AT3W myself. The Rubitrek is usually priced lower, but I wonder if the performance is really comparable.

That’s a good point. I’ve read that the Wildpeak AT3W justifies its higher price with better durability and off-road grip!

Considering the features, I’d say the Wildpeak AT3W brings more to the table. The price difference might be worth it if you spend a lot of time off-road.

These discussions always get lively, but remember, both tires have their strengths. It really depends on your driving habits!
